Kathryn (Kathy) is the first born of eight children born to Bill and Ramona Middleton. They moved about when she was young as her father, Bill, was in the Air Force. They lived in Atlanta, Georgia, Maryville, Tennessee, Mobile, Alabama and then, when Kathy was 7 years old her father left working on radar for the government and moved to her mother's hometown in Miami, Oklahoma to start his own electronics business.
