Biography

Mary Ann Middleton was born in 1737 in Charles County, Maryland, the daughter of James MIDDLETON born (29 March 1726, Jordan Manor, Charles County, Maryland, - 24 August 1790, Jordan Manor, Charles County, Maryland) and Sarah Smith (b: ABT 1700 in Jordan, Charles County, Maryland).[1]Inventory of James MIDDLETON's estate was taken, in Charles County, Maryland, on 20 January 1791 and recorded on 24 January 1791.
Mary Ann MIDDLETON, whom Zachariah COMPTON married, appears to have been the widow of Randolph Morris HAWKINS whose will was signed, in Charles County, Maryland, on 2 December 1769 and proved, also in Charles County, on 16 January 1770. The inventory of Randolph Morris HAWKINS's estate was recorded, in Charles County, on 5 May 1770. [2]

Josias Fendall's (Fendal's), containing about 150 acres. Also, 50 acres of land joining the afd tract, being part of a tract formerly called Fair fountain and afterwards Hawkins purchase, given by John Hawkins and Elizabeth, his wife, to Thomas Hawkins, father of ad Randolph Morris. Also, 2 Negro slaves, Moses and Aaron. If, however, sd Randolph Morris Hawkins pays sd Glassford the afd sum with legal interest from today, by sep 12, 1770, then this deed shall he void.
