Patience was born about 1629. She is the daughter of Thomas Middleton and his wife Barbara Shelley of Horsham.[1]
She passed away before 1685 when Thomas is married to a Mary.

Hants., gent. and Mary, his w., John Forward of Iford, clerk and Patience, his w., one of the daughters of Thomas Luxford by Patience Middleton, his late w., Barbara Luxford, also d. of Thomas and Patience, John Whitepaine of Hurstpierpoint, gent. and Elizabeth, his w.; (b) Edward Burry of Lancing, gent.; (c) William Marchant of Hurstpierpoint, yeo.; (d) Robert Whitpaine of Hurstpierpoint, yeo.
Lands called Randalls, the Isacke field, the Breaches, the Haselcroft, the Lyes mead, the Stockers Field in Hurstpierpoint (123a.), lands called the Little Clayes, the Great Clayes, the parcel of arable (23a.) on the E. side of the great Clayes, the lands called the Riddens, the 3 parcels of land called the Lawnes, the pond called the Foxhole pond, 1a. of land lying on the N. side of the pond (132a.) late parcel of the demesnes of Danny, annuity of 20 marks out of Dany park where a great wood stood, 1 annuity of 6s. 8d. issuing out of Borwash meade in Hurstpierpoint.
A fine is to be levied from (a) to (b). The Breaches are to be to the use of (c), the Isacke field, the Lyes meade, the Hazlecroft and the annuity of 6s. 8d. to the use of John Whitpaine. The remainder of the premises are to be to the use of (b), and the annuity of £20 to the use of (d).
