Biography
John was the son of Henry Miles andHannah Holder. He was born in Newland and his birth was registered in Monmouth. He married Mary Dixon in Jun 1880, the marriage also being registered in Monmouth. The 1881 census shows John living at Hartwell House, Newland with his wife Mary and children, Minnie (2) and George, a baby. John's occupation is given as 'farmer's son' which suggests he was working with his father, Henry, at Court Farm, Clearwell.(ref required).
