Biography

Charles was born in 1849 in Epsom, Surrey the son of John Miles and Sophia Margaret (Hodgson) Miles, and he was christened on the 9th September 1849 in Chessington, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.^[1][2]

1851 Census on the 30th March 1851 Charles was living at Burnt Stubb, Chessington, Epsom, Surrey with his parents John and Sophia and his sister Sophia.^[3]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Charles was living at the Manor House, Friern Barnet, Middlesex with his parents John and Sophia, and his siblings Sophia, Henry, Eliza and Amy.^[4]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Charles was living at the Manor House, Friern Barnet, Middlesex with his parents John and Sophia, and his siblings Henry, Eliza and Amy.^[5]
