Eliza Ethel Miles was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, on 15 April 1908 to Ethel Maud Miles.

Resided for many years at a different address to her husband Reginald Burton; I suspect they separated; she may have remarried to one Charles Shepherd. However, she was buried as Elizabeth Ethel Burton.

Charles Shepherd was named as her father when she died; his name is on her death record and that does not compare with the birth record.

Married at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 17 March 1927 to Reginald William Robert Burton and they have two unconfirmed sons named:- Donald John Burton, buried with Reginald; and Colin William [Pud] Burton is on the electoral rolls at Reginald's address.
