Shusannah Millar was born on the 2nd of June, 1797, in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and baptised on the 15th of June, 1797, in Barr by Girvan, Ayrshire, Scotland.^[1][2][3] the child of [[Miller-59222|George Miller and Mary McGill.^[4][5]

At 3, in 1801, her sister Mary Miller was born in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland.^[6]

After 5, and after 1901, her parents died, namely, George Miller, at +32, and Mary McGill, at +34, in Scotland, United Kingdom.^{[citation needed]}

At 24, on the 21st of August, 1821, she married John Hill Fergusson in Inch, Wigtownshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.^[7]

At 24, in 1822, her daughter Elizabeth Letitia Fergusson was born in Inch, Wigtownshire, Scotland, United Kingdom.^[8]

At 65, in 1862, her son William Ferguson died in Trimble, Crawford Co., Illinois, United States, at 35.^[14]

At 74, in 1871, she was living with John and two others at Elder Hall, Penninghame, Wigtownshire.^[15]

At 76, on the 1st of March, 1873, she died, (probably at Elder Hall), at Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, and was buried at Clachan at Penninghame Cemetery, Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.^[16][17]

Inscription: Erected by John Ferguson late crofter in Baltersan in memory of Susan Millar his wife who died on the 1rst of March 1873 aged 76 years. Also his son Joseph who died on the 13th Sept 1861 aged 26 yrs. Also his son William who died in Illinois, North America on the 26th Oct 1862 aged 36 years. Also the above John Ferguson who died 20 February 1879 aged 83 yrs. Also his son Andre Ferguson who died at Newton Stewart on 19th June 1887 aged 53 years. Also of Helen Gordon, wife of the Above Andrew Ferguson who died at Newton Stewart 3rd December, 1893, aged 60 years.
