Isabella's first marriage was to George Cowley. Her second marriage was to George McArthur. So Isabella Millar was twice widowed.

Isabella Millar married George Cowley (sometimes spelt Cowlie) in Dundee on 30 December 1841. She would have been around 23 at the time of her first marriage.
