From the stories he was considered a very tall individual, as tall as his son Jesse, sometimes said to be 6’ 7”. Jesse’s height in the military records is listed as 6’ 3 1/4”.

Wallis and Wallace are used interchangeably within the family, even grave markers for siblings will vary. Back then you would pay for each letter carved in the stone.
