Miller, Richard R. "Dick", age 93, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013. Dick was born on March 15, 1920, in Chillicothe, MO, the son of Jewell and Cora Miller. He was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and Kansas City Buiness College then entered the U.S. Army in August of 1942. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Iris Page on March 17, 1943 one day before leaving to join WWII in Sicily, Italy, France, and German, where he earned 6 Bronze Star medals. After the war, Dick held several positions with Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation, winning numerous awards. In 1976 he retired from Chevrolet's Wichita Zone Organization Manager affter 30 years of service to the company. Dick was a devoted husband, spending every day next to his wife, Iris, during her 2 year illness until her untimely death in 1984. He also had a passion for golf and was a mentor in the Wichita Junior Golf Program for many years. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Harold and Russell Miller; and close friend, Harriet Lentz. Survivors include: daughter, Sue and husband, Ron Clay; granddaughter, Chelsea Clay; numerous nieces and nephews; and care givers, Sally Cooper and Bobbie Arnett. Visitation 5 to 7PM Monday; funeral service 10AM Tuesday, both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th North, Wichita.
