Brick Walls
Andrew Johnson - Swedish, born around 1862, was in the US in 1892 (married my second paternal great-grandmother then) in Wapello County, Iowa. Family stories say he went back to Sweden and lived in Stockholm. I have several DNA matches with ancestors from Blekinge who match me but not my mother. So I'm diving down rabbit holes in Blekinge.

We have a merge to do for the profile Persdotter-6480. I missed the already created profile due to different last name at birth and different birth parish. Correct birth parish is Resmo, and she used the father Peter Ekström's last name as family name.
Hello, I noticed that you're working on pre-1700-era profiles. This is just a reminder that certifying to work on these types of profiles means that you agree to add valid sources as outlined in the Pre-1700 Certification Quiz. Please remember to add a Pre-1700 reliable source before you change or add locations. If you do not have a source it may help to collaborate with the profile managers.
Hi Linda ~ I just reviewed the quiz and no offense, but I read it as I agreed to add reliable sources when creating a pre-1700 profile. I'm also aware that I need to work with a project when editing pre-1700 profiles although that's not explicitly spelled out in the quiz. What I've been doing today is correcting misspelled locations in profiles that were created by other people. One of the co-leaders for the Nordic project asked us to help a couple of weeks ago. The vast majority have no active profile manager. In some cases, it will be nearly impossible to find sources for them because the records simply don't exist. Are you saying that the correct thing to do is to leave locations spelled wrong on existing profiles if we can't find a source?
Or are you talking about the change from Dalarna to Kopparberg? Dalarnas län was called Kopparbergs län until 1997. Even so, I generally don't make that change unless the profile has no manager or an inactive manager. I believe part of the style rules are that we use locations as they were for the person in the profile.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalarna_Countyhttps://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Dalarna_County
Maybe it's that I'm adding län? It's the Swedish word for county. We were asked to start using it because some counties also have a city by the same name and it gets confusing.
Lastly, I'd like to draw your attention to the 20 minute gap before I changed that a to an ä in the location field on the profile of Dordi Häkansdotter. I was reading a years worth of death records written in 1737 in Swedish to see if I could find a source. I remember it because Dordi is an odd name. If you're wondering why I didn't spend as long on Anders and Anna, I spent long enough to see that there were no parish records that early. They begin in the late 1600s. If it was none of the above, I'd appreciate an example, it's been a long day.
I am the Nordic Project Leader who asked for help with the location errors of the Nordic Project. Laurie has been wonderful in all the help she has given to the project and is quite within her knowledge and expertise to work on those profiles. With spelling errors, we do not need to look up sources. (I did ask that an unsourced template be added to those profiles without sources.)
An “a” is a different letter than an “ä” in Sweden. It does not require sources to change the spelling of a county. It would be like asking for sources from a Data Doctor, because they changed the US state of “Louiseana” to “Louisiana.” One is correct and one is not. Laurie explained her changes well, and I think this may just be a misunderstanding. If you have any other questions, please feel free to private message me.
Hi Laurie! Are you interested in participating in this year's Spring Clean-a-thon on April 23? We would appreciate all the help we can get even if you only have a moment to clear a few errors. If you are interested you can sign up on the following link, let them know you want to be on Team Nordic Noir, formerly Spic-n-Span Scandinavians:
On behalf of the Connectors Project Leaders, we are doing a six-month check-in with members. Please let us know if you are still active. If you are active, please let us know in which ways you are currently contributing to the project.
All of us at WikiTree would like to thank you for your contributions and hope that you are enjoying exploring your roots.
Laurie - Thanks for the note. I have little information about Uelrick Applegren (Applegren-7) beyond his name. He was the husband of Martha (Danielson-373) who was a daughter of Erick (Danielson-368). Erick was my great, great grandfather. Uelrick is too far off my tree for me to track but I would be interested in any information or connections you can add. I would be willing to pass management responsibility for Uelrick to you.
I don't really need to be on your Trusted List. The only thing that would benefit me would be to see your ancestry. Hopefully, I would be able to find the connection between you and I.
Welcome to the Connectors Project! Be sure to check out the Connectors project page to see some of what we do, our To-Do lists which have folks who need connected to our Global Tree, and please add the connectors tag to your G2G feed. We've also got a great sub-project, Connectors Chat, where we talk about what we're working on and where we'd like to help out. If you're new to making connections and want some simplified connections to work on, look at our Connecting Buddies page. Thanks for joining us!
I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a name back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site
Happy tree climbing
