Lydia Malinda Bliss was born October 1827 in Yadkin, North Carolina, the daughter of Christian Miller and Araminta Whitehead.
1850 she married Abner Bliss.
2 October 1850, 22 year-old Lydia M. was in her father-in-law's household with her new husband. The columns were checked to indicate that the couple had been married within the year. They lived in Stark County, Illinois. Although her name is indexed as Lydia "A.C."Bliss, a close examination of the original document reveals that it looks like "M." (for Malinda or Miller)
By 31 July 1860, the couple had moved to Princeville Twp, Peoria Co., Illinois. Abner worked as a farmer. They had three daughters and two sons, ranging in age from 2 mos. to 9 years old.
11 July 1870, her husband was a farmer in Akron, Peoria Co., Illinois. Abner and Lydia had eight children in the household.
16-17 June 1880, the Bliss family lived in the same place, still farming, with four daughters at home. The three elder girls helped on the farm.
7-8 June 1900, Abner and Lydia were both in their early 70's, had been married 50 years and had retired from farming, though they still lived in Akron. Lydia had given birth to 9 children/8 still living.

Although there is no source citation for an actual document, both profile managers concur that it is reasonable to assume, from research, that her parents were Christian Miller and Araminta Whitehead.
