Jacob W. Miller is Notable.

Jacob Welch Miller was born in German Valley, Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey on August 29, 1800. He was the son of David Miller and Elizabeth Welch.

Jacob married Mary Maccullough in 1825.

Jacob was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in 1832, and served in the New Jersey Legislative Council from 1839 to 1840. He served in the United States Senate from 1841 to 1853.

Jacob died in Morristown, New Jersey on September 30, 1862, and was buried in Saint Peter's Episcopal Churchyard, Morristown.[1]

Notes

  • Jacob may have used "Welsh" rather than "Welch" as his middle name later in life, as both the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress and Wikipedia give his middle name as "Welsh".
