Biography

George Miller was born in 1750 in Germany, the son of Peter and Suzannah Sibler Miller. He married Elizabeth Beaxton and they had children: John, Jacob, Moses, Christopher, Henry, Adam, Aaron, David, Mathias, Solomon and George. He served as a Private in the Continental Army during the Revolutinary War. He died in 1804 and was buried in the Miller Cemetery, Glens Fork, Kentucky.

Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Miller of the County of Adair and State of Kentucky, do by these presents nominate and appoint John Miller of the County of Cumberland & State of Kentucky for me and in my name to act and do in all matters and things relative to the estate of George Miller my deceased husband, that is the said John and myself being appointed by my said husband as Executor & Executrix of his estate I do by these presents authorize and impower him for me and in my name to ask demand sue for and receive any just debts dues and rewards properly demanded by himself and me as Executors aforesaid hereby ratifying and confirming all my said attorney may do in the premises. In witness whereof I here unto set my hand and affix my seal this 4th day of February 1805. Signed Sealed & Delivered.

1832: This Indenture made this 26th day of September 1832 John Miller and Betsy Miller his wife, Jacob Miller and Polly his wife, Moses Miller and Eva his wife, Henry Miller and Elizabeth his wife, Aaron Miller and Sally his wife, Solomon Miller & Nancy his wife, David Miller and Betsy his wife, all of the state of Illinois of the one part and Adam Miller of the other part of the County of Adair and state of Kentucky Witnesseth that we the said John Miller and Betsy his wife, Henry Miller and Elizabeth his wife, Aaron Miller and Sally his wife, Solomon Miller and Nancy his wife and David Miller and Betsy his wife hath this day for and in consideration of- and consideration to us -in hand paid -receipts of which is- by each of us hereby acknowledged hath this day granted bargained sold and by these presents doth grant bargain sell and to the aforesaid Adam Miller and ! Brother of the aforesaid County of Adair and State of Kentucky the ! following of land with all its appurtenances and, appendages there unto belonging situate buying and numbering in the county of Adair and State of Kentucky Containing by survey one hundred and seventy seven acres -more or less being part of a 200 acres survey patented to our father George Miller deceased upon Green county-certificate No 174 by patent bearing date 18th February 1809 which said -a parcel of land hereby is bounded as following-beginning at a white -and ash thence. -- poles to two sugartrees thence N poles to a black oak and -walnut in Jacob Miller line thence -N70 -116 to a white oak and –thence SE 172 poles to a hickory and -dogwoods in that- line then - --E- poles to the beginning which said tract or parcel of land and that afroe said -for the consideration aforesaid to hereby for our selves and administrators and forever- and be to the said Adam Miller hereby vesting in him and his heirs forever all Miller claim and interest which we have to the aforesaid tract of land as - of our deceased Father George Miller deceased and do warrant and defend the same against ourselves heirs. In testimony whereof we the aforesaid Grantors have hereunto our hands seals the date aforesaid.
