DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nancy by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nancy:

Please change her relationships to her parents to "confident" since there are no DNA source citations to support a "confirmed with DNA" parental relationship.

The DNA Confirmation Citation Maker, is highly recommended for creating and/or validating your DNA confirmation source citations. It produces proper citations and is easy to use.

how do you confirm a DNA match when those direct ancestors are dead? In this case, my Mom was an only child. She might have a living ancestor left in Scotland but certainly none close enough for the citation maker. My siblings are also dead and they had no children. I do know I share DNA with at least one Jamieson but I don't think she's on Wikitree and we are at least 6 levels apart. So how do I prove this link or do I just leave off with the DNA information on Wikitree? It has become quite a frustrating thing for me anyway so it might just be for the best if I just forget about that entry.

It is done by finding cousins and other relatives who have taken DNA tests and seeing if they match your DNA.

Check out the Help pages, of which the DNA Help category page shows all the DNA help that is available, and the How to Get Started with DNA page is highlighted. Also the DNA Features page can show you various ways that DNA tests can work with your genealogy.

Follow the guidance at the Confirmed with DNA help page. Also, I strongly recommend using the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker, for creating and/or validating your DNA confirmation source citations. Note that a profile should not be marked "confirmed with DNA" without source citations for both genealogy and relevant DNA test matches.

P.S., If you find matches on Ancestry or other sites, you can still use the DNA confirmation app even if they aren't on WikiTree.

Hi Andrew,

I am not able to go in and fix it myself as I am not on the trusted list for this profile, but if you wanted to get Agnes' profile into the Dysart category it is :)

Just an FYI.

Happy hunting!
