Biography

Ransom Miller, born in 1832 in Simpson County, Mississippi, enlisted in Company F of the Mississippi 39th Infantry Regiment serving as a private. Taken prisoner by the Union Forces and sent to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois, Ransom died in prison. He was buried in Chicago, Cook, Illinois, in Oak Woods Cemetery at age of 33.
