Presumably Thomas was one of the children born to Ambrose and Elizabeth in the parish of St Oswald in the city of Durham. No baptism has been found yet but Thomas did exist as he was mentioned in both his father's will and his mother's will. There is a suitable burial for him in 1795 when he was aged 83 giving an approximate date of birth of 1712. This burial is consistent with his will which is explicit in mentioning relationships with his siblings etc.
