Biography

John Miller was born in 1851 in Turweston, Buckinghamshire, England. His parents were Henry Miller (1823 - 1909) and Margaret Breen (1823 - 1895).

John married Margaret Carrick (1853 - 1873).[1]

Their daughter was Margaret Chapman (Miller) McCaffrey (1871 - ~1917).

Margaret (Carrick) Miller died about 1873 and John married again.

He married Susan O'Connelly (1855 - 1939).

Their son was Benjamin Miller (1888 - 1978).

John died on August 31, 1914 in Landsdowne, New South Wales aged ~63.

Research Notes

There is no sign of a baptism in Turweston, nor of a local birth registration. There is however a John Miller in the 1851 Census at Turweston: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBC%2F1851%2F0007132779. But the parents are Joseph and Hannah, not Henry and Margaret. And this is confirmed by subsequent census when John is still in Turweston e.g. 1871: https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBC%2F1871%2F0016762809.

Got to be some doubt that the person who died in Australia was born in Turweston - only possible if the profiled parents are incorrect.
