Note: There are several Edward Miller family trees at link below. Many list his father as a Joseph Miller and ALL list his death as 2/12/1727 in Isle of Wight Co., Virginia (but they maybe in error). Several list his children as Edward Miller, Jr. (1710-1751) who married a Martha Shearin (1720-1750) and they had a son, Jesse Miller, Sr. (1738 Cumberland Co., VA - 2/23/1816 Powhatan Co., VA) who I think is the Clerk of Court Jesse Miller. Two other children are listed also (William Miller and Sarah Miller-I found a Sara Miller also who likely was his daughter).

The below may not refer to the Edward Miller of this profile since the event occurred in York Co., Virginia not Isle of Wight Co., VA where the Edward Miller on this profile is though to have been born and lived:

5 October 1710

Edward Miller prefered a Certificate to this Court under the hand of William Buckner Gent for takeing up a runaway servant belonging to Charles Chiswell of this County & the sd Miller haveing made Oath that he has received no Satisfaccon thereof It is ordered to be Certifyed to the assembly for allowance

1723 York Co., VA: A Robert Pescud who died 12/15/1701 property was divided in 1723 to his children; one of which was "Rachel, the wife of Edward Miller". See link below (my 8/12/18 EM):

5/25/1741: prove date of will of James Brantley: Virginia Land, Marriage, and Probate Records, 1639-1850; Book 4-347: Transcription remarks: "James Brantely. Appraised by Thomas Harris, John Miller, Edward Miller, Richard Jordan. Signed Martha Brantley." ordered 2/23/1740/1741.

Edward was born about 1688. He is the son of Edward Miller and Martha Unknown.

  • Father's will in 1727 notes a child named Edward.

1724: An Edward Miller witnesses an Isle of Wight court document with a John Miller (likely his brother)

1740: An Edward Miller witnesses an Isle of Wight court document with a John Miller (likely his brother)

Feb., 1741: Appraises estate of James Brantley w/ John Miller; Thomas Harris; Richard Jordan; Signed Martha Brantley.

Since Edward-III Miller is not noted on any other documents in Isle of Wight Co., VA after Feb, 1741 (when he would have likely been in his early 50's; I would assume he resided in Isle of Wight County all his life (and maybe visited York Co., VA?); (no record of any wife/children; but records of course are limited).
