From Robert Eric Holcomb
JOHN LEWIS MILLER, Esq., b. 26 Sep 1818, Christian co., KY, d. 9 Nov 1889, Trigg co., KY, m. (1) 12 Dec 1844, Trigg co., KY, MARY ANN CARLOSS, d/o William Peete Carloss and Olivia Lamberson [see CARLOSS], b. 20 Nov 1822, poss. Sussex co., VA, d. 12 Jan 1889, Cadiz, Trigg co., KY.
Just as his grandfather James Daniel had been back in Virginia, JOHN, age 32, was listed as the County Sheriff.
In the 1880 Census JOHN and MARY were living separately. They were buried at different cemeteries (next to their children) and with the same styled grave markers.
2014 - For over six months contacts were made in Trigg co., KY searching for records that would link John to his father Isaac. Many thanks to Charlie Morris of Cadiz, KY for locating Isaac’s estate distribution records listing son John as receiving his 1/8 portion.
