Dorothy (Dottie) “Miller” Stiba, of Taylor, passed away August 14, 2016. She was born Jan. 1, 1930, to Edward and Albina in Taylor, Texas. She graduated from Taylor High School.

Dottie met the love of her life, Ernest Stiba in Taylor, TX. They were married on January 09, 1949, and settled in Rice’s Crossing outside of Taylor. There they had four children. Dottie worked for years at Taylor Motor Company as an accountant. As devoted as she was to her job, she was even more so to her family. She worked and raised her family, perfecting her exceptional cooking skills and her famous pickles. After raising her 4 children she dedicated much of her time to her grandchildren. You could frequently find 2 or 3 of her grandkids spending their weekends out on the farm, where they were spoiled rotten with lots of wonderful food and love. To quote Ryan “Grandma Stiba was much, much more than a mother and a grandmother, she was love unconditional, the embodiment of family, our matriarch, the link and the bond of us all.” To say she loved her family is a vast understatement. To say she was loved by her family is an equally vast understatement.

Dottie was also a devoted member of Taylor Brethren Church. She loved her church family, dedicating herself to The Christian Sisters and many other groups within the church. She enjoyed playing dominos every Tuesday as well.

Dottie is survived by her son Ernest Stiba Jr. and fiancé Debbie Skinner of Waco, daughter Debbie Spence and husband Lange of Salado, daughter-in-law Shary Stiba; grandchildren and their spouses, Randa Schwarz and husband Chad, Eric Stiba and wife Jackie, Ryan Stiba, Blake Spence and wife Leslea, and Elissa Stiba and fiancé Daniel, as well as 4 great-grandchildren Avery, Jace, Lakelyn and Luke. One sister in law Lydia Kaspar of Taylor and many special nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Stiba, her parents, mother and father-in-law, son Randy Stiba and son David Stiba.
