Sources

1776 -1784 Henrico County, Virginia:

"Receipts for money paid out by Col. Turner Southall, commissioner, in connection with the establishment and building of the State Foundry at Westham, on the James River above Richmond, Virginia, where arms and ammunition were manufactured during the Revolution. Mixed in are accounts for the Westham Canal, built by John Ballendine, the builder of the Foundry, and for a brewery at Westham.”

It is quite possible that the Miller’s listed above in Col. Turner Southall’s Receipt Book are:

Dabney Miller-45051 (1750 - 1804) the brother of John Miller-44531. Dabney Miller-45051 is documented as having a contract involving supplies for the Continental Army.

Edward Miller-52936 (Abt. 1738 Isle of Wight Co., VA - after 1801 Henrico Co., VA assumed) cousin of other Miller’s on this list NOTE (on Edward Miller above): Abt. 1738 - Edward Miller-IV born likely in Isle of Wight Co., VA 1757 - Edward Miller-IV and his father Thomas mentioned in Edward’s mother, Rebecca Robinson’s father’s will 1783 - An Edward Miller appears on the Henrico Co., VA Census (this Edward at Abt. 45?) 1803 - Two children born to separate male Middlesex Co. descended Miller’s living around Amelia Co., VA are named Edward Miller (maybe in honor of Edward Miller-IV, who may have not had any living children near his death?)

Heath “G” Miller could have been Dr. Heath “Jones” - [“G” a transcription error?] Miller-51338 (1761 - 1818) of the Randolph Miller family group a cousin of the other Miller’s listed when he was in his late teens or early 20’s; I do not have the date of when he was listed in the receipt book only know it was sometime in the range of 1776-1784. Heath is the brother of Thomas Miller-57891 noted below.

John Miller-44531 (1736 - 1782) my great…great grandfather and brother of the Dabney Miller-45051 above

Thomas Miller-57891 (1754 - 1819 the brother of Heath “G” Jones Miller-51338 noted above
