Ida was born in 1873. She was the daughter of Robert Miller and Victoria Rousom. Ida grew up in Owen Sound, Ontario and married at age 17 the much older William Franklin Gray formerly of Simcoe, Ontario.
From The Times, Owen Sound, dated Sept 4, 1890
"An interesting event took place at the residence of R. B. Miller, Scrope Street, on Monday morning, the occasion being the marriage of his daughter Miss Ida Miller to Mr. Wm. F. Grey (Gray) of the firm Grey Bros. & Co. Rev. J. W. Holmes officiated. The bride was attended by Miss Millie Grey as bridesmaid, while Mr. R. Boyd Miller was best man for the bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs. Grey took the morning train for an extended tour through Quebec and the maritime provinces making connection by boat at Kingston. The bride was the recipient of numerous, handsome and costly presents, being a general favorite in a large circle of friends."
William Gray was a merchant in Owen Sound for many years. The couple had three children and moved to Toronto after 1912. In the 1921 census William Gray was still a merchant, selling dry goods and Ida's father, Robert Boyd Miller was living with the Gray family. Ida's husband died in 1931. Ida lived a long life. She passed away in 1965 at age 92.
