Biography

Sarah was born about 1717. She is the daughter of John Miller and Margaret Carter.

Sara's father died about July, 1717 (based on his will date and its recording date); so Sara could not have been born any later than April, 1718. So I am changing Sara's estimated birth year to 1718. This would have made Sara Miller about 14 years old when her mother (Margaret Miller) mentions Sara in Margaret's November, 1732 will. Sarah Miller is the last child Margaret Miller mentions in her will, so she may have been the youngest child. However she is not the Sara Miller that married Gideon Marr in Amelia Co., VA on 9/4/1745 (the Sara Miller of this WikiTree profile would have been about 27 years old in 1745). The Sara (Miller) Marr was the daughter of John Miller, Jr. and Sara Hadley.

Sara's sister, Mary (Miller) Woodson married a John Woodson; and a John Woodson (could be the same person) was surety in the marriage of a Sara Miller to a Gideon Marr on 9/4/1745 in Amelia County, Virginia. This could indicate a tie between John Miller (D-1742 Middlesex / King and Queen County, VA) descendants and Randolph Miller's descendants.

Also given the fact John Miller died in 1717 and he and Margaret had six known children (based on wills noted); the first child had to have been born by about 1708 (with Sara Miller the last child born about 1718). Margaret notes she was the mother of these children in her 1732 will; so if the first child was born when Margaret was 18; Margaret would have been born about 1690 (about 8 years prior to the date Margaret Carter is noted as born). These means that Margaret Carter was not born on the date noted OR Margaret Carter was NOT the Margaret who was the wife of John Miller (son of Randolph Miller). The 3 sources noted for the Margaret Carter born 6/1/1698 were a transcription of a Margaret Carter born in "Virginia" on that date (no county noted); and two Ancestry.com family trees.

I am also changing the birth year of the Margaret that married John Miller to about 1690 from the date noted as 6/1/1698.
