In 1910 she and her first husband and their son lived in a house they owned, with a mortgage, at 97 Manning Street in Newark, OH. He worked as a retail merchant in a grocery store.
In 1920 she and her second husband and their six children--her two and his three from their first marriages, plus their son Gaylord--lived on a farm they owned, mortgage free, in Clay Township, Knox County, OH.
In 1930 she and Thomas and five of their seven children--Paul and Mary were no longer living at home, and Mildred had been added to the family--lived there. They did have a radio.
In 1940 she lived with her daughter Virginia and her husband and their son, plus an aunt of Jesse's, 88-year-old Fanny J Howell, on a farm they were renting for ten dollars a month in the same township.
