Beecher worked as a janitor on the interurban railroad in Van Alstyne, Texas before becoming a life-long barber in Van Alstyne, Oklahoma City, and retiring in Denison, Texas.
He passed away on October 25, 1957, in an ambulance ride on the way to the hospital in Denison, Grayson County, Texas, USA., and was buried in the "Good Shephard Section" at Cedarlawn Cemetery in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, USA.[1][2][3][4][5]

Melba remembers visiting Beecher with her parents as a little girl. He lived in, Denison, Texas. Beecher had a male friend that her dad refused to allow her to talk to. That man is, Luther Stapleton, Beecher's boss. Melba said Beecher was nice to her, and Luther would give her a nickle.
