First immigrated on ship Patience from Europe, arriving in Philadelphia on 11 August 1750 with his first wife, surnamed Kenagy (Gnage). She died sometime before 1758, childless. Christian then returned to Europe in 1758 to seek out a second wife, marrying Veronica Mishler and settling in Berks, PA with her where they raised their five daughters and three sons.
