I am interested in filling in the blanks across my family tree and connecting each to the larger Wiki Tree family tree. I have just gotten my DNA test back and am interested to see what new insights those will offer.

By the way, my Ancestry DNA user name is my married name Anita Ayres. I couldn't figure out how to add the user name after the fact, so I added it here.

Anita A. Turner-Ayres formerly Miller aka Barner, Turner, Ayres

Biography

First, I feel very uncomfortable writing anything about myself. However, in the interest of future generations who may want to know what their ancestor was like, I will tell a little.

The thing I love most, in this world, is my family. I grew up in a large, tight knit, extended family that knew how to laugh, love, and take care of one another. I spent my summers with my grandparents in St. Louis as I was growing up.

I love music - singing and piano, wet on wet oil painting, though I'm not very good at it, nature, quilt-top making, crafting, and cooking - but I hate washing the dishes and there is a pile waiting for me as I type, I must confess.

I am a romantic. When I love, it is with my whole heart and with reckless abandon, often to my own detriment. When my heart is broken, it is completely shattered. That has happened twice in my life. I have been married three times and two of those ended in divorce.

I have always wanted to be a mother and I am beyond blessed to have four natural children and two step-daughters, though I hate the word term "step". In my heart I have six children.

I lived in Germany for three years, from age 12-15, as an army brat. That was an amazing adventure! While living there I was able to visit Switzerland and Austria.

I enjoy swimming and bike riding...and that's pretty much it for sports that I enjoy.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2016 and have a hard time doing much of anything now because of the pain and muscle fatigue so I have been doing a bit of writing the past couple of years.

I am a Christian. My faith is what gets me through each day.

Hi Anita,

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit with the profiles you entered. Adding the tag United_States will help you get updates about activity for that project.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
