Biography

Luther Miller was born in Granville, Massachusetts, on 17 February, 1795. He was the son of Eliakim Miller ^[1] and Rhoda Pratt Miller.

He married first, Olive (Unknown last name), who died in 1824. They had at least one child, Edwin M Miller.

He married second, Candace Upson Sperry. They made their home in Winnebago, Illinois and had Olive C, Alma, Alba. .^{[2] [3][4]} (Other children are said to be Miles and Silas. I am not aware yet of their dates of birth nor who their mothers were.)

Appeared in the 1870 U. S. Census in Byron, Ogle, Illinois. Please note the surname was transcribed as Johnsen. The household included: Am* A. age 48, occupation farmer; Alma age 40; Miller age 14; Harriet age 13; James age 10; Scott age 8; Frank age 6; Laura Moore age 12; Angeline Hunter age 22, occupation domestic servant; Henry Barker age 18, occupation farm laborer; Charles Sherny age 18, occupation farm laborer; Luther Miller age 74, occupation farmer; Canda Miller age 76.

Luther died at the age of 87 - Nov 7, 1882 in Byron, Ogle County, Illinois, USA ^[5]
