Biography

Gertrude was born in 1891 in New Jersey. She is the daughter of David Miller and Emma J. Wilson. ^{[1] [2]}

On 1 June 1900 she (age 9) was living in Highlands Borough, Middletown Township with father David (41), mother Emma J. (33), sisters Emma J. (15) and Sarah E. (11), and brothers David R. (7), Elmer J. (4), and Fitzhugh (2). She was at school. ^[1]

In 1905 she (age 13) was living in Highlands with Emma J. (38) Emma J. (20), Sarah E. (16), David R. (11), Elmer J. (9), Fitzhugh L. (7), and Malcom S. (7 mo). Also living there was Fred Parker (18), Harry Smith (48), and Samuel F. Wright (20). She ran a boarding house and was listed as widowed. ^[2]
