Biography

Johannes Miller, born in the Palatinate area that would later become Rhineland-Pfalz, was the son of Adam Miller. He came to the Proviince of New jersey some time prior to 1720. He married Catherine Straight, also a German immigrant, in Ramapo, Bergen, New Jersey, on 16 Mar 1720.

1764, Aug.. 13. Miller, Johannes, of Pequannack Twsp., Morris Co.; will of. Wife, Catharine, 1/3 of the moveable estate. Son, Hendrick, the land where he lives, of 131 acres. Son, Jacob, the land where he lives, of 180 acres. Son, John, the land where he lives, of 216 acres. Son, Adam, £50. Son, Frederick, V100. My three daughters, Elizabeth, Margaret and Charlotta, £75 each. Executors --Sons, Adam and Frederick. Witnesses --Lewis Stewart, Corenlius Peer, daniel Peer. Provied Dec 5, 1769. 1770, March 1.
