Sarah (Miller) Fleming was born in Scotland.

Sarah was born December 16, 1887 in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland, the daughter of John Fraser Miller and Margaret Hetherington.

She married Pvt Thomas Fleming on September 23, 1918 at her parents' home at 125 Montrose Street in the St Rollox district in Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland. She was 30 years old, a spinster and her occupation was stay maker. Her parents were Robert Fraser Miller, newspaper printer (journeyman) and Margaret Hetherington Miller, maiden surname Boyd. The groom was 34 years old, a bachelor, a clerk and presently on active service and a Private with the 75th Battalion, Canadian Infantry. His parents Archibald Fleming and Mary Kerr were both deceased. [1]

Research Notes

On their marriage record, Sarah's mother's name was given as Margaret Hetherington Miller, maiden surname Boyd but this is NOT correct.
Her mother was actually born Margaret Hetherington and although her mother married James Boyd when Margaret was only 2 years old, she still was listed as Margaret Hetherington for the 1871 and 1881 Census years. (MacKechnie-21 18:15, 3 June 2022 (UTC))
