Biography
James was born about 1819 in Ireland. In the 1840 census, James is found living in Wells Township, Columbiana County, Ohio with a wife and one female child under the age of 5. The daughter may possibly be Lucinda or she may be an earlier daughter that died prior to the 1850 Census. In 1850 the family is enumerated in Wellsville, Wells Twp, Columbiana Co, Ohio and there are now three children in the home.
Theasia is passed on by the time of the 1860 census but James and his six children are still living in Wellsville. Also in the household is one Daniel McLeod, aged 74, who we believe to be Theasia's father and the children's maternal grandfather. By 1870, James is still living in Wellsville but only his daughter Helen is still at home.
Note:
There is still no definitive proof of James' wife's parents but we are proceeding with James Milligan and Anastasia McLeob as the provisional parents of Lucinda and her siblings. Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.
