Edith was born in Lancashire, England on 23 April 1873.
She married Samuel Rendell on 2 November 1897 in Klerksdorp in the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republic.[1]

Samuel passed away in 1907. Edith was 36 years old and had a small son when she married Charles Cecil Hobson on 9 March 1910 in the Cathedral Church in Pretoria.[2] Two children were born of this marriage.

Edith was 76 years old when she passed away in the Germiston General Hospital on 24 August 1949.[3]
