William N. Milligan was baptized on 8 Aug 1841, the son of Robert Milligan.[1]
"William N. (1841) a seaman, married Abigail Henderson (1849-1937) at Alberton, PEI on Feb 3 1869, mysteriously disappeared, resided in New England"[2][3]
In 1881, William, age 40, was an inn-keeper in Summerside, married to Abigail, age 31. Children in the household were Lilly, 11; Peter, 10; James, 7; Margaret, 5; Cassie B., 2; and Mary Jane, born that year. [4]
When Cassie Bell Milligan married Raymond Bell on 14 Feb 1900 in New Hampshire, she said her father William Milligan, age 52 was a carpenter in Summerside and her mother Abigail, age 52, was living in Massachusetts.[5]
Abbie Henderson Milligan said she was a widow, in 1900 and 1910. She had emigrated to the United States in 1887 or 1888, and her son William Ness Milligan was born 30 Nov 1891 in Boston.[6][7]
