• 1791 Birth: Based on age at burial date and 1861 Census.
• 27 Jan 1793 Baptism: Susannah Mills was baptized in the parish church Burford, Oxfordshire. Father of record is James Mills. No date of birth on record.

****NLH Note: This is the third of four children that James baptized at the same church in Burford. There is only one James Mills that married in Burford prior to these baptisms and that is to Mary Mills (of different parents - Mary father is Richard, James father is William)

• 2 Feb 1826 Marriage: A William Bateman William Bateman and Susanna Mills marry in the Chapel of Stowell in the parish of Hampton, Gloucestershire. Records indicate they are both of this parish.

****NLH Note: While both William and Susanna were born and lived most of their lives in Burford area of Oxfordshire, this parish church is not far away, just on the other side of the Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire county border. It is feasible they married in the town next door but its puts a bit of uncertainty on this being the correct match.

****NLH Note: William was 21 at marriage, Susanna was 35. It is possible that Susanna had children or an earlier relationship, hence they felt they had to go to another parish to get married.

• 4 Sep 1833 Baptism of Son: Charles is baptized in the parish church in Burford. Parents are William (a laborer) and Sussanah Bateman of Burford.
