Biography

Howard was born in 1854 in Mapleton, Cumberland, Nova Scotia to Henry Coughlin Mills and Maria Jane (Bird) Mills.

According to his death certificate, Howard moved to Londonderry, Colchester, Nova Scotia 53 years before his death, or 1889. His profession is listed as Crown Land Surveyor and Magistrate. Apparently, he did not retire until he was 84 years old.

The death registration also indicates "Captain (Military)" after his name; i.e. Mills, Howard Captain (military). At this time, it is unknown the circumstances of this military experience.Mills-4919 00:09, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

The death registration 'informant' was daughter Faye Christine Mills who was living in Brookline, Massachusetts at the time of Howard's death.

He passed away in 1942 at the age of 87 years, 4 months, 13 days.[1]
