1861 Census:
In the 1861 census, Edward 3 was living with his family at 23 Great Wild Street, St Giles, London, Middlesex, England. His father Samuel 39 was a boot closer and his mother Jane 41 was a boot closer too. His siblings Matilda 18, Emma 16 and Charlotte 14 are servants, Thomas 12 a boot closer, Samuel 9 and Henry 4.[2]
1871 Census:
In the 1871 census the family were living at 132 Drury Lane, St Giles in the Fields, London, England. Edward 13 and his father Samuel 49 was a boot closer, his mother Jane is 50 and probably boot closing too. The other children at home are Jane 9 and Samuel 4.

1877 Marriage::
Edward married Mary Ann (Butter) Mills (abt.1856-) on 19 February 1877 in St John the Evangelist, Lambeth, England. He was a boot closer as was his father Samuel. His wife Mary Ann's father was the late Thomas Butter a musical instrument maker.[4]
1881 Census:
In the 1881 census Edward (age 23), Boot Closer, was the married head of household at 20 George St, St George, London, England. His wife Mary Ann is 25 and they have 2 children, Ellen 3 and Edward Samuel 1. Edward, Mary Ann and Ellen were born St Martins and Edward Samuel was born in St George’s.[5]
1891 Census:
In the 1891 census Edward (age 33) was living at 161 Drury Lane, St Giles in the Fields, London, England, born in St Giles. His wife Mary Ann is 34 and they have 5 children Ellen 13, Edward Samuel 11, Samuel 3, Alice 1 and John just born.[6]
1898 Death:
Edward died at the age of 39, in the St Pancras in the July 1898.[7]
