Married Margaret Billingsley in 1892. Both he and Margaret Billingsley were medical doctors. After her death, he married Mary Pabst. Mary Pabst was his nurse for many years before they married. He had no children in this marriage either, but he did have a son with Gertrude Buchanan, though they were never married. His son, George McGlothlen, was also a medical doctor.
