MRS. MAUDE McCOLLOUGH
Mrs. Maude Mills McCollough, wife of Kenneth M. McCollough,died suddenly at her home in Butler last Thursday evening. Death wasdue to a stroke, following an illness of several months. She was 57years of age..
The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mills.Though born in Donegal township, she passed her girlhoood inChicora, her parents moving into town wehn she came of school age. Shegraduated from the Chicora schools; and began teaching first in Donegaltownship, then in Millerstown borough. After teachin in the Chicoraschools for several terms she was married to Kenneth McCollough,son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. McCollough of Fairview township; and she andher husband went to Asbury Park, N. J. where Mr. McCollough wasemployed. Later they moved to Butler where Mrs. McCollough again took upher profession as teacher, a work in which she always took thedeepest interest.
She was a member of the Chicora Methodist Episcopal church.When she moved to Butler she united with that denomination there. Formany years she taught a Sunday School class; and was always active inother church work. She was a member of the Women's Business andProfessional Club of Butler; A member of the Chicora Amaranth Club; and amember of the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association. Hers was abusy and useful life.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth M. McCollough; a neice(sic), Miss Gloria Mackey, at home; four sisters, Mrs. A. J. Simon,Mrs. L. C. Wicks, Mrs. C. E. Perman of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. A. A.Hoch of Chicora, and a brotehr (sic) William Mills of Chicora.
Funeral services, conducted by her pastor, Rev. R. W. McKenzie,were held in her late home, 404 Mercer street, Butler, Mondayafternoon.
Burial was made in the Hillview cemetery at Kepples Corners.

TEACHER IN BUTLER FOR TWENTY YEARS DIES IN HER HOME
Mrs. Maude Mills McCullough, aged 57, wife of Kenneth M.McCullough, school teacher in Butler schools for 20 years, died suddenlyat the residence, 404 Mercer street, at 5:25 o'clock last night.
Although Mrs. McCullough had been in failing health for sometime her death came suddenly late yesterday afternoon.
Born in Donegal township, she had resided in Butler 22 years.Mrs. McCullough taught in the Butler senior high school for one year,searrved as a teacher in the Junior high school for two years and for17 years was a teacher in the West End school. Failing health forcedher to retire from active service last month.
Mrs. McCullough was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church,was a teacher in the Sunday school of that church for many years, wasa member of the Business and Professional Women's club, theAmaranth Lodge of Chicora and the Pennsylvania State EducationAssociation.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth M. McCullough; a niece, MissGloria Mackey, at home; four sisters, Mrs. A. J. Simon, Mrs. L. C.Wicks, Mrs. C. E. Paterman of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. A .A. Hoch ofChicora, and a brother, William Mills of Chicora.
Funeral services will be held from the family residence 404Mercer street at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. R. W.McKenzie pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church of Butlerofficiating.
