Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles!
It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.

You adopted the profile, and it is open, so anyone signing the Honor Code can edit it. Were you logged in at the time? If you hadn't logged into your account, you could see the profile but can't edit it.
I hope this helps. Sheryl

First of all welcome to Wikitree and the Dutch Roots Project ! :) One of the goals of our project is to Source and improve all Dutch Profiles , including our own of course !
Since you just arrived I can imagine you maybe need some time to get used to and familiar with how everything works here at Wikitree ? When you have added a few of your earlier Dutch ancestors, (greatgrandparents) I can make an example profile for you if you like, but please just take your time, there's no rush needed, first take some time to get used to and feel 'at home' at Wikitree, some experience is also important for the projects, so if you have questions or need some help, feel free to just ask, I'm always happy to help. :)
Here you can see how things can be done : Biographies we also have some examples of profiles , in the Bio's of these profiles you can look how to add the ref tags, sources etc :when is a profile Template ready ?
Of course you'll reach, the earlier ones at some point, so for all members working on the Dutch Roots project/profiles, we need to ask you to first take the Pre-1700 Self-Certification quiz , the Dutch naming convention is also very important , all info about Patronymics you can find there as well . Once you've taken the test you'll get the badge :)
And here's what you can do already: to join the project
Well I know it's quite a lot of info, so just take your time to read it all, and of course for all members of the Project it's very important to participate at the G2G because that's where we communicate about Dutch profiles, if we need help finding sources or other project related stuff .
Very happy to have you as a member Stella !

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.
We also have Mentors to help too.
Welcome! Laura
I enjoy researching my own and my husband's family history and would like to pass on what I have discovered in my trees to interested parties.
