Biography

John Kelly Mills was born Elphin 1849. ^[1]

He was the son of George Mills & Isabella Conniffe. ^[2]

In 1869 he is recorded as a "commercial clerk" in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim, presumably working for the merchants Marmaduke Church and George Church from the same record. ^[3]

He emigrated from Ireland to Australia around 1870. ^[4]

He resided at St Kilda. ^[1]

He was a Manufacturers Agent. ^[1]

He married:

John died St Kilda, 21 September 1908^[1], aged 59^[6].

Research Notes

Where did the middle name Kelly come from? He had a second cousin, John Mills of Scotland, who was son of St George Mills & Anne Kelly.
