Occupation: successful farmer; was active in Rural Electric Association and was part of delegation that visited President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the White House. Invited him to speak in Barnesville, Ga and he accepted.

Note: Added June 2007 by Nanelle's daughter Nancy: The following information about her father, Ernest Cohen Milner, was written by my mother Nanelle Milner Armistead (b.1910- d. 2001) of Barnesville, Ga. in 1966: "My father, Ernest Cohen Milner, attended Gordon Institute (later Gordon Military College) in Barnesville, Ga. under President Jere Pound, walking to school "over the mountain" from the original home place. This home place remained in the Milner family until the death of Bob Milner when it passed into the hands of his wife's sisters. In 1905 Ernest C. Milner bought a farm four miles east of Barnesville where he and Farris Elizabeth still live. (Note: this was written in 1966). Ernest C. Milner, with the help of his wife Farris, was a very successful farmer. For many years he was a member of the Advisory Board of Lamar County, having served on that Board at the time the Lamar County Courthouse was built. During the Franklin Delano Roosevelt administration he became very interested in the Rural Electrification Program. On July 7, 1938, Ernest C. Milner, as director of the project, was a member of the delegation who called at the White House and invited President Roosevelt to speak at the dedication of the REA project.(President Roosevelt accepted. (Note: my older sister Alice, Nanelle's daughter, has the original newspaper clipping with the picture of our grandfather and President Roosevelt in what appears to be the Oval office). Ernest Cohen Milner was a director and treasurer of the REA project for many years. All of Ernest's and Farris's children graduated from Gordon Institute/Gordon Military College. Two were valedictorians, one second honor and the others honor students. There are ten grandchildren, five of whom were class valedictorians and all others honor graduates. Nine grandchildren are college graduates and the tenth, Nancy Armistead, is at present in college." ****** 1900 United States Federal Census about Eornes e Milner Name: Eornes e Milner Home in 1900: Barnesville, Pike, Georgia Age: 1 birth year: abt 1883 Birthplace: Georgia Relationship to head-of-house: Son Father's name: Benjim Mother's name: Lucy C Race: White Occupation: View image Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Benjim Milner 40 Lucy C Milner 41 Eornes e Milner 17 Vann Milner 15 Robert Milner 13 Maud Milner 11 Dellard Ham 28 Love Stephens 19 1910 United States Federal Census about Cohen Milner Name: Cohen Milner Age in 1910: 27 Estimated birth year: abt 1883 Birthplace: Georgia Relation to Head of House: Head Father's Birth Place: Georgia Mother's Birth Place: Georgia Spouse's name: Faenst Home in 1910: Johnstonville, Monroe, Georgia Marital Status: Married Race: White Gender: Male Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Cohen Milner 27 Faenst Milner 24 Lucy May Milner 4 1920 United States Federal Census about Ernest C Milner Name: Ernest C Milner Home in 1920: Johnstonville, Monroe, Georgia Age: 37 years Estimated birth year: abt 1883 Birthplace: Georgia Relation to Head of House: Head Spouse's name: Farris E Father's Birth Place: Georgia Mother's Birth Place: Georgia Marital Status: Married Race: White Sex: Male Home owned: Own Able to read: Yes Able to Write: Yes Image: 154 Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Ernest C Milner 37 Farris E Milner 34 Lucy Mare Milner 14 Nathill Milner 8 Ernestis Milner 6 Paul Milner 4 Pauline Milner 5 Social Security Death Index about Ernest Milner Name: Ernest Milner SSN: 257-56-4306 Last Residence: 30204 Barnesville, Lamar, Georgia, United States of America Born: 1 Aug 1882 Died: Dec 1969 State (Year) SSN issued: Georgia (1954 ) Georgia Deaths, 1919-98 about Ernest C Milner Name: Ernest C Milner Death Date: 24 Dec 1969 County of Death: Lamar Gender: M Race: W Age: 87 years County of Residence: Lamar Certificate: 040092.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Cohen by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Cohen:
