Elizabeth was born in 1834.

In the 1871 census [1] John and Elizabeth are in Bowden, Stratton, where John is a mason and he and Elizabeth (birthplace given as South Molton Devon) have six children living with them, William J (apprentice shoemaker) Rebecca, Elizabeth A, Thomas, John and Albert.

In the 1881 census [2] John, occupation stone mason, is with Elizabeth (birth place shown as Chittlehampton, Devon, which is 6 miles from South Molton) and their children John, Albert, Minnie and Arthur are still in Bowden, Stratton, Cornwall
