Elizabeth Milward was probably born in St Kitts. The oral family history was that John Pogson's mother was "Miss Milward", a granddaughter of John Milward who came to St Kitts in the 1680s.
it is not proven that Elizabeth Milward was the daughter of George Milward; however, it was this Elizabeth, or the Elizabeth Milward who married her son John Pogson, that was the likely heiress of the Godwin Estate which is how that plantation came into the possession of the Pogson family.
