Death and Burial
Marie Josephe Mimaux, wife of Pierre Leclerc, passed away on 19 Aug 1738 being given the age of around 34 years on the record. Her burial was the following day in Saint-Vallier.[3]
Marie Josephe Mimaux and her husband Pierre Leclerc were indeed parents of a son Joseph born in May 1734, but his fate is unknown. The Joseph Leclerc who married Marie Anne Fortier was the son of a different Pierre Leclerc. In January of 2017 the ‘Nosorigines’ database was showing the incorrect line, but now has the revision citing the PRDH database. The error appears to originate with Cyprien Tanguay’s Dictionnaire which contains the mistake. Independent research in the records of Ste-Anne-du-Bout-de-l’Ile confirmed the revised lineage.
