Hendrik Mink, born 4 January 1891[1] in Nijehaske, son of Johannes Harmens Mink and Aukje Jentjes Dijkstra. He passed away 30 August 1923[2] in Weltevreden, Java, Nederlandsch-Indië)[3]. He drowned in the Ciliwung river[4] (Tjiliwoeng)[5]

Hendrik Mink joined the Royal Netherlands Navy in July 1914 and was fired there in February 1906 due to peculiar characteristics. On 16 February 1910, he served as a soldier for the colonial service. He embarked on board the ship ZM Willem III on 17 September 1910 and debarked in Batavia on 23 October 1910, where he served as an infantry soldier and from August 1920 as a fusilier. Hendrik Mink took part in military operations on Borneo in 1914 and 1915.
