Biography

Andrew was born on 9 May about 1822 in Welland, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Jeremiah Misener and Mary Elliot.

The 1871 Census shows him living in Crowland, Welland, Ontario with his wife Margaret, sons Robert (13 yr) and John (12 yr), and daughter Jane Ann (8 yr) ^[1]

In 1881 the census record shows Andrew and Margaret in Crowland, Welland, Ontario. John and Jane Ann are still at home. ^[2]

A year later in 1882 he is cited on the registration for the marriage in Welland, Ontario, of his son John to Annie Sibbit. ^[3]

In 1883 his son Robert marries Isabella Smoke in Niagara Falls, Welland, Ontario and Andrew is cited as the father of the groom.^[4]

Five years later on March 7, 1888 in Simcoe, Norfolk, his widowed daughter, Melissa Booth, marries Benjamin Pogson and Andrew is cited on the registration.^[5]

In the 1891 Canada Census, Andrew (age 68) was living in sub-district Crowland, Welland, Ontario, Canada with his wife Margaret (67), daughter Jane (28), and granddaughters Hellen (6), and Mary (1 month).^[6]

He is shown on Tax Assessment Rolls for Crowland, Welland, Ontario for 1891 ^[7], for 1894 ^[8]and for 1895 ^[9].

Cited on the registration for the marriage of his son, Albert, to Louisa Becker in 1873 in Houghton, Norfolk, Ontario. ^[10]

Andrew P died at the age of 74 on 11 February 1897 in Welland, Ontario, Canada.^[11][12] He is buried in Port Robinson Presbyterian Church Cemetery.^[13]
