John was born in 1900. He was a son of Elijah Mitchell and Sagasta English. He passed away in 21 N0v 1968. Children are private.

Grandaddy was a special person for us growing up. I remember a large Cherry tree in the backyard, very tall, so he would put up a ladder and pick the cherries. Grandma would then can them and they had shelves in the basement where those were stored. They also had damson trees and she made preserves from those. They always had a garden back by the garage, so fresh veggies were always served.
When staying the night there I had to wait to him to go to sleep because he snored when he first went to sleep, so after that it was quiet and I could sleep.
His death was tragic for all. He was on the roof doing repairs and fell. We were told he may have had a heart attack. Grandma was distraught and only lived 2 years past his death.
