Anderson's profile of her husband provides neither first nor maiden name for Thomas' first wife. They married by about 1626, and she died by about 1650. She was Thomas Armitage's first wife, and mother of his children.[1]
A previous version of this profile, citing only a highly derivative source, claimed she was Susan Mitchell of Thornton, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.[2] NOTE: This reference claims the information was from Anderson's Vol A-B of The Great Migration, which is where Anderson profiles Thomas Armitage; however, no name of Susan Mitchell is seen in that publication. The unsubstantiated parents, Thomas Mychell (1544-abt.1610) and Elysabethe (Claye) Mychell (1543-abt.1609) have been disconnected.
