Biography

Anderson's profile of her husband provides neither first nor maiden name for Thomas' first wife. They married by about 1626, and she died by about 1650. She was Thomas Armitage's first wife, and mother of his children.[1]

Research Notes

A previous version of this profile, citing only a highly derivative source, claimed she was Susan Mitchell of Thornton, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.[2] NOTE: This reference claims the information was from Anderson's Vol A-B of The Great Migration, which is where Anderson profiles Thomas Armitage; however, no name of Susan Mitchell is seen in that publication. The unsubstantiated parents, Thomas Mychell (1544-abt.1610) and Elysabethe (Claye) Mychell (1543-abt.1609) have been disconnected.

What is the source for her name being Susan? It is marked as certain but Anderson gives her name as Unknown.

I see that Susan Mitchell is speculative, no proof. Perhaps a notation in bio?

Name changed; profile protected. Also genericized marriage info after searching for any source for such a specific marriage. None.
